MicroSDHC memory cards are micro-SD memory cards with a capacity of 4gb or more. The highest capacity at time of writing is 8gb, though a 12gb and a 16gb prototype has been developed. The maximum theoretical capacity of a microSDHC card is 32gb.

Generaly, SDHC is faster than the standard variety (though not always). SDHCs come with "class" ratings (2-6) indicating speed, with a class 6 being faster than a class 2 and 4. Unfortunately, SDHC cards require more power than the standard variety, so there is a trade off between power consumption and capacity.

Although it has generally been reported that faster cards have less problems playing titles with fast access time requirements, this is not always the case. Buyers should research the individual cards available before purchasing.
