Skins or themes are custom Graphics for the CycloDS. A skin almost completely changes the look and feel of the GUI (Graphical User Interface) from the design/colors of buttons, backgrounds etc etc.

The process of applying a kind is called skinning

The best place to get themes for Cyclo and many other Flash Carts is http://www.ndsthemes.com/.

The procedure for applying a skin

1) Download the skins from http://www.ndsthemes.com/ or any other site.

2) Unzip the file. The folder should contain these files.

   bottom.bmp
   cheat-icons.bmp
   menu-icons.bmp
   scrollbar.bmp
   top.bmp
   skin.xml

3) If you want you can test the skin using the skintester tool. You can download that from here http://ste123.at/ste123/download.php?file=6. It's not mine so credit goes to the creator.

4) Put all the files contained in the skin in a folder. For example put all the files described in step 2 in a folder called mario.

5) Put the folder "mario" in "/CycloDS/skin/". For example if your microsd card comes under F:\. Then put the skin folder in "F:\CycloDS\skin". If skin folder is not present in the CycloDS folder then create one

6) You can put any number of skins you want.

7) Put back the Microsd in your CycloDS. Boot it up

8) Go to settings in the main menu and select your skin there

Since CycloDS is a new card compared to R4DS. There are a larger number of skins for R4 than Cyclo. There is a nice converter which converts the R4 skins to Cyclo skins online. The website is http://g0t0.info/R4toCycloDS/
