Do the sections:

  • How to make your own ROM Dumps with a CycloDS Evolution
  • Flashing your Nintendo DS
  • GameBoy Advance ROM Support
  • Recommended/Best Homebrew to use on a NDS Flash Cart

Belong in this article? I recommend they are divided into separate articles as they are not necessarily suited in a 'Beginner Guide' - they could of course still be linked from this article. --TheBeast 16:57, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Agreed, see the discussion here:

We already have a GBA Rom section set up, which is a double of most of the stuff here - I'm gonna trim the beginners guide down and make sure all the info is tied up there. We need a 3-in-1 section.

This article really needs to be cleaned up, and more current information needs to be added. --Infornographer 19:45, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Random Access Time - Which one is most important?

When you run the Speedtest for Libfat, which one is the most important of the random access times? I always assumed it was the 16 KiB test, but this thread on the forums seems to indicate the 512B test is most important. This is pretty critical, as my cards (Which are A-Data but not rebranded Kingstons, sadly) show an average time of 684μs (Which, if this thread is right, means Portrait of Ruin should play with no problems) but the 16 KiB test shows 10156μs which would mean a random access time of about 1 second. The wiki doesn't go too in-depth on just what Random access benchmark is the big one, so I'm not too sure which one is the most important. Some clarification here would be nice. --Dark Pulse 22:51, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

UPDATE: I just tested with a new card. It turns out that I'd ordered two identical make and model cards, however, the second card has a MUCH lower access time - about 570us at max and 550us on average for a 512 Byte Random Access. However, this cannot be the value that the Portrait of Ruin acid test is looking for - the game still froze up when I went into the pause menu. Either that or Speedtest for LibFAT/The card are reporting false numbers somehow! --Dark Pulse 13:28, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
